Living with Baby Reflux and Feeling Isolated? Social Media Isn't Helping.

Social Media Makes Baby Reflux More Isolating

Social Media and Baby Reflux

Social media networking sites such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc etc etc, could be making your life with baby reflux a lot worse than it needs to be.

Don't get me wrong, I ❤️ Facebook and Instagram. However, some years ago, I took a hiatus from Facebook because it was ruining my life.

You see, with a baby with reflux, with children who cannot eat the same as everyone else because of food allergies, I was seeing perfect images of my friends and their happy kids at the beach enjoying ice cream.

Something mine will never be able to do.

Because they are allergic to dairy, and even many sorbets have milk added (yip - check the labels!).

It's time to get real.

My approach to removing the app from my phone saved my sanity somewhat.

In conversations with parents, I often come across the phrase, "no-one else seems to understand what it's really like".

Truthfully - how could they know? And how could they even start to think that you are suffering like you say you are...

Think about this for a moment...

Do you talk about baby reflux on social media? What photos do you post? Are they photos of a smiling, gurgling, goo-ing, gorgeous, happy baby, or are they live videos of 45-minute screaming sessions?  Are they babies in the buggy sleeping with the caption "baby finally sleeping", or are they photos of babies screaming on the bathroom floor because you actually have to put them down somewhere to use the loo?

Remember, all the perfectly amazing photos that you share with the world and your friends are their windows into your life unless they are actually in your life on a daily basis.

So, despite what you say you are going through, are you showing you're following something slightly or very different?

Be kind to yourself.

It may be true that no one understands you right now other than those you have managed to find who also have unsettled babies.

Be gentle with yourself and be kind to others, too. No one knows what is going on for you unless you tell them. And then be aware of what and how you are telling them, especially if you are a master at holding it together.

And parents who are going through baby reflux are masters at holding it together because they have to be.

If you are ready to invest in freeing your baby and your family from reflux, I am here for you.

How can I help?

In the 'Reflux Free Baby' Workshop, I walk you through all the symptoms you need to observe and record for your baby, what they mean, and how to use them as clues. The course is suitable for both bottle-feeding and breastfed babies who are suffering from baby reflux.

I tell you what the clues mean individually and when they occur with other groups of symptoms.

And this leads us to be able to say what is causing each baby's reflux with much more confidence.

Based on this, I tell you what specific action to take for them.

To get your baby free from their reflux as quickly as possible, sign up now. You will have your answer within an hour.
