Reflux & CMPA Friendly Allergen Free Burgers For Your Baby

Lamb & Beetroot Allergen-Free Burgers

Ingredients

  • 400g lamb mince

  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (NOT salt)

  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (NOT salt)

  • 400g raw beetroot, peeled and grated

  • 200g raw carrots, peeled and grated

  • Salt

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees C (380F)

  2. Line a baking tray with parchment paper

  3. Mix all the ingredients in a large bowl

  4. Use your hands to really mix well. There should be no visible lumps of meat or clumps of grated vegetables left. This will take about 5 minutes of hand kneading and mixing.

  5. Shape into burgers – about 80-100g each. When forming each burger, make sure to squash it together to help it bind.

  6. Place on the baking tray

  7. Cook for 25-30 minutes

  8. Either serve directly or allow to cool and freeze.  Defrost and reheat before serving again, although can be served cold.

With the veggies in these burgers, it is impossible not to love them. It's actually the beetroot that gives them a fabulous natural sweetness.  If your child has an allergy to sulphites, substitute the onion powder for 1 medium onion finely chopped, and substitute the garlic powder for 4 cloves garlic, chopped/minced.
