Do Breastfeeding Elimination Diets Help a Baby with Reflux and Colic?

Breastfeeding Elimination Diets for Infant Reflux and Colic

Have you considered an elimination diet to help with your baby's reflux? Or perhaps you've tried and not got the results you expected or hoped for. Let me break things down - I am here to help.

Breastfeeding and Elimination Diets

The trauma of reflux can be unbearable. And if you're breastfeeding, you may have been told that your milk could be causing the problem.

I'm going to call bullsh!t on this.

And if you haven't heard this, then perhaps you've been recommended to try an elimination diet. And it still hasn't worked.

Some people swear by the Dr. Sears Total Elimination Diet, and others are confused because even that didn’t work for them.

And I’m here to tell you that there is a very simple reason that the TED diet, GAPS, Paleo, vegan, vegetarian, FODMAP, FPIES, MSPI diets and every other ‘diet’ or way of eating under the sun could ‘fail’ to give you predictable and consistent results for your breastfed baby.

There is one reason and one reason alone.

What is that reason?

These diets fail to consider the current stage of maturity of your baby’s digestive system.

It is that simple.

That is the answer.

How do I do things differently?

People using my methods are getting phenomenal, consistent and predictable results within days of starting my protocols. And that is why this way works, regardless of any other food preferences in your life.

I teach you what you need to know about your baby’s digestive system because, armed with this knowledge, you can then make informed and better decisions for you and your baby. My approach differs from many other breastfeeding elimination diets.

First of all, you need to understand what is causing your baby’s discomfort. The details on how to do this are comprehensively explained in my Reflux-Free Framework.

When it comes to food, formula and breastmilk, I take account of the natural immaturity of your baby’s digestive system and combine that with a knowledge of the molecular level of the food when digested. I am the only person currently addressing reflux in this way.

This interaction can be the singular source of discomfort and explains why your baby will grow out of these intolerances. It is actually that their digestive system matures to be able to break them down.

So, what approach to elimination diets do I take?

I do not propose a single list of safe foods, and stick with them for as long as your breastfeeding journey continues.

I start with a massive elimination diet, having the safest of safe foods included. The aim is to remove all allergens and all complex proteins and carbohydrates immediately. You should start to see improvement in your baby in days.

The approach, then, is to reintroduce foods in a measured and safe way.

I want you to be able to understand the range of foods that you can enjoy and understand what you should stay away from for the moment and why. I want you to have confidence in your choices. I want you to be able to go out to your local pub for lunch and order food you know is not going to bring back the Night from Hell for your little bundle.

So this really becomes an evolving way of eating to support your breastfed baby. As they grow and develop, you have to confidence and knowledge to introduce more foods gradually and safely. You deserve to be able to enjoy parenthood with ease, and that’s my goal for you.
